To get us there we’re undertaking a broad programme of change to ensure how we work, who we work with, and where we work match our ambition.
The Change Team – part of the Assistant Chief Executive for Strategy and Communities’ department – are a crucial part of the engine room driving this change. And we’re expanding our team to meet the challenge.
We’re looking for three experienced principal programme managers with a background in in projects/ programmes, change or service design to join the team working on programmes covering areas like service improvement, organisational change and cross-council collaboration.
As a principal programme manager you’ll lead be developing, designing, managing and – at times – delivering programmes. You’ll work with colleagues to shape what’s needed and be great at balancing building on what is already in place with shaping something new. You’ll need to be flexible, proactive and comfortable working in complex programmes and operating contexts with leaders across the organisation.

That could include things like developing outcomes frameworks, engaging stakeholders, designing and facilitating knowledge transfer approaches. You’ll need to be flexible, proactive and comfortable working in complex programmes and operating contexts.
